‘Obaseki is doing what Oshiomhole told us’

Osagie Otabor, Bénin

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Owan West local government area have said they are backing Governor Godwin Obaseki for a second term because he is doing what his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said he would do.

The leaders said they are going to drive the Obaseki/Shaibu second term project in Owan West.

They spoke at a joint press briefing in Bénin City, the Edo State capital.

Special Adviser to Governor Obaseki on Strategic Planning and Programme Management Office, Dr. Uyi Oduwa-Malaka, recalled that Oshiomhole introduced Obaseki as someone who would tackle issues such as carrying out difficult political reforms, blockage of financial leakages, war against hooliganism, institution of a new social order, human capital development and sustain the tempo of infrastructural development.

Dr. Uyi said Governor Obaseki has not deviated from those things Oshiomhole said he would do.

Chairman of Owan West local government, Mr. Frank Ilaboya, said all the leaders of the locality have resolved to deliver on the mandate.

A former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Joe Ekpenkhio, said Obaseki’s developmental strides have touched all parts of the state.

“From Edo North through Edo Central to Edo South, Obaseki has touched all parts of the state. The development is visible. Look at infrastructure. Roads are being tarred. Industrial park is coming.

Other Owan West leaders at the briefing were Sir. Peter Eguaboi, former Deputy Speaker, Hon Omon Ezomon, Hon Blessing Agbebaku, Legal Adviser of Edo APC, Ohioma George, Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Dame Omona ONI-Okpaku, Hon Ojo Asein, Hon Jinfred Obaidiku and Hon Inumidum Idehen.
