Yemi Alade and Patoranking tell Cuppy about their new albums on 'Africa Now'

Alade tells Cuppy about her upcoming album and disproving misconceptions about Africa.

On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Patoranking featured on Cuppy's 'Africa Now' on Apple Music. The Nigerian star is set to release his third album, 'Three' on August 28, 2020. He has also released a new single titled, 'Abule.'

Speaking on the album, Patoranking tells Apple Music that, "Three, because most of the good things in life comes in three. Check it out. This year I turned 30. Forbes 30 on under 30.

"And when you pray, you say, 'Oh, in them of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.' That's Trinity. But here we're talking about three major things, which is life, love, and happiness. So that's what we did with album ‘Three.’ "

He also talks about his new single, "'Abule' means village, but for us here in Lagos, we termed 'Abule' as hood area, ghetto. Like my Abule is Surulere. You get? This song here is me trying to talk about... My environment actually influences me. I'm highly influenced by where I come from, which is a slum.

"Before I make music, I just have a reflection of where I come from. That's how I write music. I said, 'This time around, let me even talk about the parties, how the party is in the hood.' 'What happens in the party and all those things.'"

On Sunday, August 9, 2020, Nigerian superstar, Yemi Alade will feature on Cuppy's show, 'Africa Now' on Apple Music. During the conversation, Alade tells Cuppy about her upcoming album and disproving misconceptions about Africa.

She says, "I have always had themes for my album because as human beings we keep changing; our body, our mentality, our perspective in life and every year in every album, I share in my albums... Most especially, I'm going to be going all-African unapologetically then every before.

"After we went to Amsterdam to record, we still had to fine-tune everything during this lockdown. As you can hear from my voice, I'm so excited."
