According to the Lagos State Police Command, the couple was rescued from a shrine in the Ikorodu area of the state following a raid and demolition led by the new Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Edgal Imohimi.

It was learned that the CP had led a crack team of operatives on the rescue mission following a tip-off by some residents on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, to the Agbawo area of Ikorodu where the lucky man and his wife were rescued from a shrine where they were kept.

The couple had reportedly gone to the town for spiritual help but on getting to the shrine, they met with the owner, Adedeji James, who allegedly hypnotized them and planned to use them for ritual purposes.
