A Time Like This... How Prophet killed friend's lover, shares body parts for ritual

A self-styled Prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church has been arrested for killing a woman and sharing her body parts for money rituals.

A self-styled Prophet who hid behind his cassock to operate a ritual gang has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing the girlfriend of a member of his gang and sharing the body parts with other gang members.

Punch reports that the suspect, Darasimi Rotimi, a prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, was arrested alongside one of his accomplices, Ibikunle Sunday, for killing the woman for money-making rituals.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Iliyasu Ahmed who personally paraded the suspects, they had murdered the victim identified as Sara Olowokere at Ijoko, Sango-Ota area of the state and removed her body parts including the head, wrist, heart, breast and private parts for the rituals.

CP Ahmed revealed that after the suspects killed Olowokere, they dissected her body and shared the parts before burying her remains at Alafia street, off Alagbole, Ijoko.

Sunday, the second suspect, a 40-year old Okada rider, reportedly confessed that he killed the victim by hitting a plank of wood on her head and when she gave up the ghost, they went ahead to butcher her.

“I hit a plank of wood on her head. When she died, we now shared her parts. I took her head to Ogo-Eri and Prophet Darasimi took the other parts of the body away.

They said the parts are essential ingredients for money-making rituals,” Sunday confessed.

 

He added that the deceased was the girlfriend of the third suspect who is still on the run.

According to the Commissioner, the suspects were arrested following a tip-off by concerned residents of the area.

"The suspects reportedly killed one Sara Olowokere at Ijoko, Sango, and removed her body parts including head, wrist, heart, breast and private part for money-making rituals.

Suspects arrested include a prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Darasimi Rotimi and his accomplice, Ibikunle Sunday, who dissected her body before burying her remains at Alafia street, off Alagbole, Ijoko.”

The CP added that a massive manhunt has been launched for the fleeing suspect while investigations have begun in earnest and the suspects would soon be arraigned in a court for prosecution.
