There are however security fears ahead of the friendly game after ISIS issued a threat to carry out a terror attack in Russia with a disturbing poster of Lionel Messi crying out blood.

Although ISIS’s threats are directed at the friendly, the use of Messi in the photo have put the Argentina Football Association (AFA) in alert ahead of the game in November.

With Messi expected to be part of the friendly game against the Super Eagles, the AFA have raised concerns about the security around their captain and the national team.

President of AFA, Claudio Tapia, on Thursday, October 26 met the Russian ambassador to Argentina, Victor Koronelli, to discuss the threat posed by ISIS.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have however told Pulse Sports that they have not been a threat to the friendly.

NFF's Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire revealed that the federation has not been informed of any threats on the upcoming friendly game.

The NFF have not received any report about any threat to the friendly game,” Olajire told Pulse Sports.

ISIS had also released a poster which shows a terrorist armed with a gun and explosives near a football stadium in Russia along with the words “I swear that the Mujahideen's fire will burn you... just you wait.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be played across 11 cities in Russia from June 14 to July 15, when the final will be played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
