Rahama Sadau: Actress apologizes to MOPPAN, asks to return to Kannywood

Rahama Sadau, who was expelled from Kannywood for featuring in a romantic music video, has apologized to MOPPAN.

Rahama Sadau, who was expelled from Kannywood in 2016 for featuring in a romantic music video by ClassiQ, has apologized to the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN).

According to a report by Premium Times, the actress apologised and asked that she be allowed to return back o the film industry.

“I am human and liable to make mistakes and as a daughter who stand to be corrected. I wish to plead and ask my colleagues, the executive member of all guilds, the entire people of the north and audience at large to forgive me," she wrote in the letter.

 

Premium Times also spoke to Salisu Mohammed, the secretary of MOPPAN, who stated that a meeting will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, to decide if Sadau would be forgiven or not.

“We are going to hold a meeting to discuss on the content of the letter and come out with a definite stand. It is not going to be automatic at all," Mohammed said.

“She told the media that she was not served letter of suspension and she was not suspended. She also made lot of comments that are not supposed to come from her,” he added.

Following her expulsion, the actress received an invitation from Jeta Amata and Akon  to visit their film set in Los Angeles, California.

She has since featured in Nollywood movies such as "Hakkunde," "Ajuwaya," "Sons of the Caliphate," "Tatu" among others.

Sadau's debut production, a Kannywood movie, recently won the Best Kannywood film at the 2017 City People Awards.

The actress will next be seen in "The Accidental Spy" alongside Ramsay Nouah.
