The White Noise Supremacists: New rock band thrills Lagos music lovers at Rocktoberfest 2017

One-woman band, The White Noise Supremacists made a debut at Rocktoberfest 2017, earning herself a bunch of fans after an amazing performance.

TheWNS has introduced a new style to performing rock music and it is one that will her contemporaries to step up their game.

One-woman rock band, The White Noise Supremacists walked up to the stage at the 2017 Rocktoberfest festival with a highly built anticipation from followers of the Rock & Alternative Music genre.

Her performance on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Freedom Park, Lagos, was her first before a Nigerian audience and it was pretty much an important affair for both sides. The crowd were curious to know what a former US-based musician who recently relocated to her native country, Nigeria, had in stall for them.

The worst pessimist of the Rock & Alternative genre will agree that she was never a disappointment. From the moment she mounted the podium and worked on her musical instruments in between sweats, it was clear that she meant business.

She bore the reflection of a lady who preferred to get things done by herself - a departure from what applies to most women who will gladly accept an offer of help when dealing with a task requiring a physical exertion.

Her warm-up performance over the heavy sound of an electric guitar already informed her listeners to get ready for something awesome. "My name is Ifeoluwa Babalola," she introduced herself as she ended her first session which was at tribute to Rock 'n' Roll legend, Fats Domino who died on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. This was welcomed by loud screams of approval from the audience who had already started to fall in love with her. "We love you," they cheered as one.

This gave her the needed confidence to continue with the rest of her rendition which she rounded up with grace.

Her entrance into the Nigerian music scene came at a time when the Rock & Alternative Music genre was needing more strength and she can be considered as having the right quality in the push for more prominence of the rarely patronized category.

Babalola in an exclusive interview with Pulse News in October revealed that she plans to release an album before the end of the year 2017.

This will add to a body of works which include 3 EPs and two singles available digitally on iTunes, Spotify and other music consumption platforms.
