Nigeria Vs Super Eagles: John Ogu looking forward to middle battle against Banega

John Ogu and Banega will clash when Nigeria face Argentina in a friendly game in November.

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is looking forward to playing against former Inter Milan star Ever Banega when Nigeria face Argentina in a friendly.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Tuesday, November 14 face Argentina in a friendly game in Russia.

Ogu who has been included in the Super Eagles squad for the friendly game is looking forward to playing against a familiar foe in Banega.

The 29-year-old midfielder played against Banega when Hapoel Be'er Sheva faced Inter Milan over two legs in the group stage of the Europa League last season.

 

Ogu’s Hapoel Be'er Sheva won both legs but the midfielder admitted that it was difficult to play against Benega.

“He is a smart player and it was tough playing against him during the Europa League last season, but I look forward to another battle against him and the Argentines in the friendly,” Ogu told Complete Sports.

 

“My coach gave me specific details about him and I did carry them out because we won the ties, but Banega was silky in both legs.”

Banega who now plays for Sevilla, is in coach Jorge Sampaoli’s Argentina squad for the friendly game.
