Sunday Oliseh: Former Super Eagles boss voted the best coach in Netherlands
Sunday Oliseh's Fortuna Sittard has been one of the best sides in the Dutch second division this season.
Sunday Oliseh’s exploits with Fortuna Sittard so far this season has earned him the award as the best coach in the first half of the Eerste Divisie (Dutch second division).
After avoiding the drop in his first season at the club, Oliseh is flying with Fortuna Sittard who are currently third in the Eerste Divisie table after 11 games.

Fortuna Sittard sit in third position on the table with 20 points, having won six games, drawn two and lost just three from 11 games.
This has earned him the award for the best coach in the first half of the Dutch second division.
“Sunday Oliseh has been named the best trainer of the first period,” Fortuna Sittard confirmed via their official Twitter handle.
Oliseh was appointed as coach of Fortuna Sittard in December 2016 with the club on the verge of relegation. The former Nigeria international however managed to keep them in the Eerste Divisie.
Ahead of his first full season with the club, Oliseh’s autocratic style of management was in the spotlight after he fell out with part of the club’s hierarchy.
His treatment of then captain Ferry de Regt brought discord at the club but he has since recovered from that shaky start to lead Fortuna Sittard to an impressive first half of the season.
This season, Oliseh led Fortuna to a club record eight consecutive home victory and also recorded his highest away win as a coach with a 6-0 victory against Telstar in September.
Fortuna are also in the third round of the Dutch Cup for the first time in 18 years following a 3-0 win against Go Ahead Eagles in October.
