"Thor: Ragnarok" is finally upon us and here are 10 things you need to know about the Marvel movie.

Today is Friday, November 3, 2017, which means one thing; Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" is finally upon us.

Pulse Movies has put together 10 things you should know about Marvel's latest superhero movie.

1. In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is a series of future events, including a great battle, foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures such as Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki.

2.  It is a sequel to 2011's "Thor" and 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," and also the 17th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

3. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins.

4. Hela the Goddess of Death is played by Cate Blanchett in "Thor: Ragnarok." She is also Marvel's first female villain.

5. In "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld.

6. The events of "Thor: Ragnarok" are set two years after "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and sets up the next big MCU ensemble movie, "Avengers: Infinity War."

 

7. The movie sees the addition of additional characters such as Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Karl Urban as Skurge.

8. Doctor Strange makes an appearance, helping Thor and Hulk fight against intergalactic baddies.

 

9. The movie is directed by New Zealand director Taika Waititi, who also plays Korg in it.

10. Hulk has a major role in "Thor: Ragnarok." He takes what Marvel describes as “a cosmic road trip” with Thor.Oh! And Hulk talks!
