Chelsea legend Frank Lampard believes the Antonio Conte side is struggling to cope without injured wing-back Victor Moses.

Moses was ruled out for a month after suffering a hamstring injury during a Chelsea game in October.

After Chelsea’s 3-0 loss away at Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday, October 31,  Lampard believes the Antonio Conte's team is struggling defensively because of the absence of Moses.

Moses is a miss, you wouldn’t have thought that 18 months ago with what he’s given them in the right-wing back position,” Lampard said while on punditry duties with BT Sport.

He’s [Conte] is covering it with Azpilicueta, he’s covering it with Zappacosta, but it’s affecting the whole back five.

“And I think he will want to get back to knowing what his three is and working on it through the week.

“The players are going to have to react because I don’t think Conte is a manager that will change his way. He might change players in the team but they’ll have to work.

“Hearing discontent about training, they better get used to it because he’ll want to work his way out of it.”

The Nigeria international is working hard on his recovery. He put up a video of him working out in a pool.

Putting the work in will be back soon! #roadtorecovery,” Moses wrote alongside the video on Twitter.

Without him, Chelsea will on Sunday, November 5 host Manchester United in a Premier League clash.
