Osas Okoro is sorry about the home based Super Eagles performance in the CHAN final

Super Eagles defender Osas Okoro has issued an apology to Nigerians following the teams heavy defeat in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) final.

Okoro who was a key component for the home based team posted a message to apologise on his official Twitter handle.

"We really wanted to win for every Nigerian out there but we are sorry about the end result. A lot to learn from this and we thank you for your endless support. #StayingPositive"

 

The Super Eagles lost by four goals in the CHAN final to Morocco, via a brace from Zakaria Hadraf, while Ayoub Kaabi, Walid El Karti contributed one goal each.

Okoro's apology comes after teammate Stephen Eze admitted that the Eagles performance in the final was disappointing.

The 27-year-old has played for NPFL sides Bayelsa United and Heartland, but currently plays for 2016 league winners Rangers Intl of Enugu.

Okoro and his CHAN teammates are expected back in Nigeria on Tuesday, February 6.
