FIFA World Cup Trophy

Nigerians have held debates and conversation on whether it was the real trophy that was on parade in Nigeria and how much it is worth.

Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the trophy arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday, March 6 on a tour of Abuja and Lagos.

Coca-Cola and FIFA kicked off the tour in Russia, host of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and will touch down in a total of 91 cities in 51 countries across six continents before the final.

Pulse Sports had exclusive coverage of the tour, flying in the Coca-Cola World Cup Trophy Tour all through their stop in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, only president Muhammadu Buhari got to touch and hold the trophy because of FIFA guidelines that say that only winners of the tournament and heads of state are allowed to handle the official World Cup Trophy.

All through the tour Nigerians have held debates and conversation on whether it was the real trophy that was on parade in Nigeria and how much it is worth.

The Coca-Cola and FIFA guys insist that the trophy which was paraded in Nigeria is the official one.

But according to FIFA's regulations the official trophy is now given to the winners. When Germnay won it in 2014, they received a bronze replica which is gold-plated rather than solid gold.

How much is it worth?
