Ebikewenimo, Bose, Blessing add two bronze and one silver to Team Nigeria's medal haul.

Team Nigeria at the Gold Coast 2018 on Thursday, April 12 won three more medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

Ebikewenimo Welson, Bose Samuel won bronze medals while Blessing Onyebuchi grabbed silver medal for Nigeria in wrestling at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Ebikewenimo Welson defeated South Africa’s Jan Combrinck to win bronze in the Men's Freestyle 57 kg wrestling event.

 

Welson overcame a semifinal defeat to Canada’s Steven Takahashi as he was awarded more classification points than his south African counterpart.

Bose Samuel wins bronze medal in Women's Freestyle 53 kg Nordic System

Bose Samuel claimed another bronze medal for team Nigeria in the wrestling event.

Bose defeated Sri Lanka's Deepika Mudiyanselage through “Victory by Fall” to claim the bronze medal in the women's freestyle 53 kg Nordic System.

Blessing Onyebuchi wins silver medal in Women's Freestyle 76 kg event

Nigeria's Blessing Onyebuchi won a silver medal in the Women's Freestyle 76 kg after a defeat by Canada's Erica Wiebe.

 

The Nigerian defeated India's Kiran in the semifinal but lost in the final to Wiebe who won through “Victory by Fall.”

The wrestling team are on the verge of equalling the medal haul by the weightlifters as more Nigerian wrestlers are still in contention for more medals in several categories of the wrestling event.
