Homecoming 2018: Skepta brings the stars out at BBK Africa event
Nasty C's suprise set was one of the night's biggest moments
The stars came home on one night for Skepta and BBK Africa, and while Burna Boy was not the surprise guest that many hopes, Nasty C was a fitting replacement that set up the biggest performance at BBK Africa's Homecoming Concert at Federal Place Hotel, Lagos.
Skepta's team had promised to bring some of the best African talent on the British Isles. Performances by Not3s and J Hus were some of the most anticipated and things aligned for a beautifully loud night.
The stage was opened by Wavy The Creator who was followed by contemporaries like Odunsi The Engine, Ajebutter 22, BOJ and Santi.
Skepta's set turned things up a notch. Performing tracks from his newest studio project, "Vicious" EP, he called Olamide on stage for a performance of "Sheevita Juice" and some of Badoo's street hits.
Nigeria's two biggest afro-pop stars, Wizkid and Davido were the creme of the second leg. Davido's cheeky walk off the stage as the crowd sings "FIA" will should be recorded and kept on film.
Ycee, Niniola, Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks also performed on the night. DJ Enimonye's "Codeine Diet" drew notable excitement from the crowd.
Since taking the stage at NAtiveLand in 2016, J Hus' "Common Sense" has sprung some of the biggest listens.
Husala Baby closed out the job with a set that fit the buildup with performances of "Did You See", "Plottin", "Bouff Daddy" and "Dem Boy Paigon".
