Music: South African rap legend, Proverbs set to drop new single

After a four year hiatus, veteran and well respected South African rapper and TV host, Proverbs has hinted that a new single is on the way and rap fans are excited

South African rapper, Proverb is set to make a return to the scene with a new single

Legendary South African rapper, Tebogo Sidney Thekisho popularly known as Proverbs is set to make a return to the music scene with a new single after last releasing any record in 2014.

The rapper who released his debut album far back as 2005 says he took to rhyming because he has always wanted to sound cool and be better than any other rapper on the scene.

 

Proverbs, who produce and host the popular reality music show, South Africa Idols with four successful solo albums to his name announced via his twitter page that he had concluded works on a new single and it is due to be released anytime soon.

 

The rapper who is also a TV and radio presenter began his career in 1999 and is well renowned in his hometown for never using curse or vulgar words in his lyrics which is quite rare for a hip-hop artist.

He achieved not just critical but commercial success with his four studio albums, 'The book of Proverb', 'Manuscript', 'Write of Passage' and 'Fourthwrite, which features the classic 'Writers Club'.

The rapper has also worked with veteran Nigerian emcee Modenine on 'Promode' and 'Hip-hop is me' with the duo once rumoured to be working on a joint project which never saw the light of the day.
