2019: Eschew violence, Catholic knights tell politicians

The Catholic Knights of Saint Mulumba Nigeria, have urged politicians to avoid violence, as the 2019 general elections approach.
The over 500 delegates of the Knights across Nigeria, arrived Awka, Anambra state Friday for the 39th Knights of St Mulumba KSM Supreme convention for the three days event
Addressing reporters at St Patrick’s Cathedral Awka, the leader of the Supreme Knights in Nigeria, Bro Diamond Ovueraye, said there must be peace in the country, but warned the voters to choose rightly.
He said it was not the best of times for the people in the country, with harsh economic situation, wanton killings, rape and other things, adding that to avoid anarchy, people’s choice and votes must be respected
“The Supreme convention of our honoured Order is an annual event, hosted in different cities in Nigeria, where the hosting Metropolitan Council chooses”.

“The Supreme Council is the highest decision making organ, comprising of delegates from all over the country”
“We   are   all   experiencing heightened political activities as the candidates of the various political parties, have emerged and campaigns have started, we say, “YOUR VOTE, YOUR POWER”
“We decried the continued gruesome, wanton, unprovoked and unprecedented killing of unarmed Nigerians by yet to be identified killers masquerading as herdsmen”
“We still note that life in Nigeria has become brutish and cheap and security of lives and properties is at an all-time lowest”
“At this note, we applaud gallant Nigerian soldiers out there in the cold and rugged conditions of the Sambisa forest and other flash points, We commiserate with families of those who have lost their loved ones ones ” Ovueraye said
