AFRIFF 2019: Ego Boyo’s ‘The Ghost & the House of Truth’ to close film festival

Akin Omotosho directed film, ‘The Ghost & the House of Truth’ will be closing the 2019 AFRIFF.

Ego Boyo’s ‘The Ghost & the House of Truth’ has been announced as the closing film at the 2019 edition of the African International Film Festival, AFRIFF. 

The 2018 edition of AFRIFF sees Faraday Okoro’s ‘Nigerian Prince’ closing the film festival.

'The Ghost and the House of Truth' is a film done in association with Slate 1 Films and The Mission Entertainment.

AFRIFF is an International Film Festival for Africans that has created a phenomenal platform for both local and international professional filmmakers, celebrities, actors, directors, film critics, musicians, editors, students, equipment manufacturers, light engineers, cinematographers, sound engineers, visual artists, buyers, amateurs, equipment manufacturers, film students, distributors, international press and more.

In its 9th year, AFRIFF 2019 edition is themed “SHEROES” in appreciation of the female folk in the film industry. Chioma Ude, AFRIFF founder, and Executive Director said, “We are proud to theme this year’s festival as one dedicated to SHEROES, those who enable us to dream and to celebrate storytelling which challenges society. We are very much focused on training and supporting more female filmmakers this year and beyond.”

Chioma Ude is the founder of the Africa International Film Festival.

‘The Ghost and the House of Truth’ which has a strong cast of female thespians further drive home the theme of 2019 AFRIFF.

Speaking on the film, Ego Boyo said, “‘The Ghost and the House of Truth’ is an emotional, thought-provoking and powerfully real drama that takes on socio-cultural issues, highlighting society’s basic requirement for more effective law enforcement and judicial, profiling and databases for citizens. It’s a simple but unforgettable story.”

The film features Susan Wokoma, Kate Henshaw, Fabian Oloyede, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Uzo Ozimkpa, Toyin Oshinaike, Seun Ajayi, Tope Tedela, Chioma ‘Chigurl’ Omeruah, Keira Heiwatch, Oludara Egerton, and Princess Shyngle.
