Nigerian Players Abroad: Anthony Nwakaeme grabs assist, Mikel Obi in action as Trabzonspor away win in Turkey
Nwakaeme now has four assists so far this season.
Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme grabbed an assist while former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi was in action for 78 minutes as Trabzonspor got a 1-0 win away at Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday, December 23, 2019.
Nwakaeme laid the assist for Alexander Sorloth who slotted home in the 38th minute to give Trabzonspor the win.
That was the fourth assist for Nwakaeme who also has four league goals so far this season.
Mikel was taken off in the game in the 78th minute while their compatriot Ogenyi Onazi, was an unused substitute.
Also in Turkey, this weekend, Nigerian midfielder Azubuike Ikechukwu made a cameo in Ä°stanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir’s 4-1 win away at Kayserispor.
