Wilfred Ndidi concedes penalty on return for Leicester City while Kelechi Iheanacho grabs an assist in the Foxes home league win over West Ham

Two Nigerian players Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made a return from injury for Leicester City to help the Foxes to a 4-1 win over West Ham in the Premier League.

Ndidi had missed three games Leicester City after he underwent surgery on a minor knee injury.

The Nigerian midfielder on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, made a return to the bench. He was soon called into action to replace an injured Nampalys Mendy in the 34th minute.

He was solid as usual although he conceded a penalty in the 48th. The Nigerian midfielder and Sébastien Haller got their legs tangled while chasing down a loose ball in the box and the referee pointed to the sport. Supported by VAR, the decision stood as Mark Noble scored from the sport to pull a goal back for West Ham.

Iheanacho had earlier been called from the bench where he replaced an injured Jamie Vardy in the 43rd minute and it was the Nigerian who helped Leicester City to retake control of the game.

In the 79th minute, the Nigerian skipped past two West Ham players before driving into the box where he was pulled back by Angelo Ogbonna for a penalty which was converted by Ayoze Pérez.

In the 88th minute, he grabbed an assist after he did well to drive into the box before teeing the ball to Perez who struck in the bottom left corner for Leicester’s fourth of the night.
