Naira Marley arraigned before Abuja mobile court over Jabi lake concert, fined N200,000
The controversial music star pleaded guilty to the charges filed against him.
Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has been arraigned before an Abuja mobile court.
The music star was whisked away from Lagos to Abuja where he was arraigned before an Abuja mobile court on Friday August 7, 2020, for violating COVID-19 protocols.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) filed a four-count charge against him for hosting a concert in Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, in clear violation of COVID-19 directives on June 13.
After the charges were read to him, Naira Marley pleaded guilty and, the presiding magistrate Idayat Akanni handed down a fine of N200, 000 on him.

This latest development is coming barely 24 hours after he was arrested and arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for flouting travel bans during the lockdown.
The Lagos state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana told Punch that Marley presented himself at the command headquarters.
Controversy trailed the rapper's drive-by concert in Abuja in June which landed the popular Jabi Lake mall which hosted the event and Executive Jets Services, the airline which lifted him from Lagos in trouble.
