NFF distribute N772M as palliatives to, Super Eagles, Super Falcons, clubs, referees, coaches and journalists

The various sums have been distributed for the football entities to cope with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have revealed that they have distributed N772m as palliatives to the Super Eagles, Super Falcons, different national teams, clubs, referees, coaches and journalists from grants they received from FIFA, Confederations of African Football (CAF) and sponsors.

The NFF after their Executive Committee meeting which was held via video conference on Monday, August 10, 2020, released a statement to show how they intend to distribute the money they have received.

According to the statement released by the NFF, the distribution has been endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In a breakdown of the money received as grants, the NFF revealed that they have gotten N772m in total from FIFA, CAF and sponsors like Nike and Coca-cola which they have distributed.

According to the breakdown provided by the NFF, the Super Eagles of Nigeria received N77.2m while the Super Falcons got N38.6m.

Money was also distributed to the junior men’s and women’s national teams.

The 20 clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) received N115m in total while support was also sent to clubs in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the Nationwide League (NLO).

The 16 clubs in the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) got N61.7m in total while support also went to the second-tier women’s football league in Nigeria.

Money was set aside for support coaches, referees and other organizations like mascots, Supporters Club, Players Union, State FAs, etc.

Journalists recognised under the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) were supported with the sum of N11.5m.

The money has been distributed among all these football entities to cope with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic
