In Serbia
Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq continued from where he stopped last season with a brace in Partizan Belgrade’s 4-0 win over Javor on Sunday in a Serbian SuperLiga game. Umar scored a career-high 17 goals in all competition last season.
In Saudi Arabia
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa scored his first goal of the season for Al-Nassr who got a 2-0 win away at Abha on Monday. Musa doubled Al-Nassr’s lead in the 62nd minute. Al-Nassr are second in the Saudi Pro League with 24 games played.
In Russia
Nigerian striker Sylvester Igboun kicked off the new Russian Premier Liga season with a goal in Dynamo Moscow’s 2-0 win away at FC Ural on Monday. Igboun doubled Moscow’s lead with a fantastic header in the 59th minute.
In Belgium
Two Super Eagles strikers Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers were on target for Genk who kicked off their 2020/2021 Belgian First Division A season with a 2-1 win away at Zulte Waregem. Onuachu gave Gent the lead in the 73rd minute while newly signed compatriot Dessers netted from the penalty spot in the 79th minute.
In Scotland
Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun continued his impressive start to life in Scotland with another fine 90-minutes performance for Rangers who beat ST. Mirren 3-0 in the Premiership.
Europa League
Wing-back Victor Moses played some part in Inter’s 2-1 win over Leverkusen in the quarterfinal clash of the Europa League being played in a tournament-format in Germany. Moses was introduced in the game in the 59th minute to help Inter advance to the final.
In China
Nigerian veteran striker Obafemi Martins was on from the start as Shanghai Shenhua were held to a 2-2 draw by Dalian Pro in the Chinese Super League game. Martins was taken off just before the hour mark.
