Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo linked with a return to Turkey with Trabzonspor
Omeruo is set for a new challenge after his club suffered relegation in Spain.
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has been linked with a return to Turkey with Trabzonspor.
Omeruo spent three years in Turkey playing for Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor before he moved to Spain in the summer of 2018.
After a two year-stint with Leganes in Spain, the 26-year-old is set to leave the Spanish club following their relegation from La Liga.
Leganes are looking to sell the Nigerian defender who only joined on a permanent deal in the summer of 2019 after an impressive loan stint in the 2018/2019 season.
Leganes are looking to recoup the €5m they paid Chelsea for the defender and Trabzonspor are looking to get him.
Trabzonspor are looking to refresh their squad after seeing their Turkish Super Lig challenge collapse. They finished second and won the Turkish Cup.
In the 2019/2020 season, Omeruo played 23 league games for Leganes but wasn’t on the level he was during his loan stint in the 2018/2019 season.
