INEC publishes list of candidates for Ekiti by-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the list of candidates to contest the Ekiti East I State Constituency bye-election, scheduled to take place on March 20, 2021.

Five political parties are going to slug it out during the bye-election taking place to fill the vacancy that arose following the death of Amos Adegbuyi Oluwajuwa, a member representing Ekiti East Constituency 1 in the House of Assembly.

The candidates are Olayinka Christiana Oluwayemisi, 43, representing Action Alliance (AA); Fatoba Oluwole Abraham, 51, All Progressives Congress (APC); Ilesanmi Magret, 49, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); Akintunde Adeyemi Adeniran, 36, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP); and Idowu Ebenezer Alao, 30, Young Progressives Party (YPP).

The candidates representing the APC, the PDP and the YPP are males, while those flying the flags of the AA and the APGA are females.
