Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney gets cast in spider man’s spin-off movie

Sydney Sweeney has been enlisted into the Marvel cinematic universe to play an undisclosed comic character.

After delivering a thrilling performance in her role as Cassie Howard from the sophomore season of HBO’s blockbuster series Euphoria, the 24-year-old actress has been enlisted to join the marvel cinematic universe, alongside Fifty Shades of Grey lead actress Dakota Johnson in the spider-man spin-off movie ‘Madame Web’ reportedly in production at Sony Pictures.

As per reports from Deadline, the spin-off instalment will follow the story of the comic book character ‘Madame Web ‘an elderly woman with psychic sensory abilities who thrives off a spider web that operates as her life support.

Reports are making rounds. S.J. Clarkson has been taken on board to direct Madame Web. While Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have written the screenplay, no further details have been shared yet. This Sony Marvel Spider-Man-adjacent project comes as a follow up to the Venom cameo in Spider-man: No Way Home and a prominent Vulture cameo in the upcoming sony title Morbius which is closely linked to the MCU. At this point, it is apparent that Sony Pictures is now trying to turn a bunch of random Spider-Man characters into their own films, and it is presumed a Kraven the Hunter project is also in the works.
