The leadership of the Student Union Government of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has suspended its President, Mr. Omotayo Akande, from office for allegedly seeking funds from the university authorities.The suspension is to last for one month.This was contained in a statement signed by the Student Representative Council comprising the SUG Speaker, Adebari Adedayo; Clerk of the House, Ogunkanmi Omotayo; andDeputy Speaker, Olowofoyehan Oluseun, on Monday.According to the statement, Akande wanted to obtain N650,000 from the authorities toattend a conference in New York, United States of America.The suspended president’s move, the council said, breached its oath of office.
