Super Eagles’ Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi are among the early arrivals in Abuja yesterday for the World Cup qualifier against the Desert Foxes.
Nigeria tops Group B table after her 2-1 victory over Zambia in Ndola last month. Algeria shares one point apiece with Cameroun after playing 1-1 on the Foxes’ home soil.
Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, said the players were received by Coach Gernot Rohr-led technical crew, giving assurance that they would give their best to win the encounter.

Ibitoye revealed that the players are in high spirit, as Rohr has mapped out strategies ahead of the battle against the Algerians. “Eagles have started arriving for the World Cup qualifier. I believe the team would be complete by Tuesday (today) to begin training.
The Eagles will train twice daily as all the players in camp are ready to give their best in the game,” he said. Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Algerian national team would be arriving in Uyo on a chartered flight on Thursday.
Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses have stated that they are looking forward to the battle against the Algerians in Uyo on Saturday.
Commenting on their Twitter handles, Mikel said: “Looking forward to playing at home on Saturday ... as always we will need your passionate support.’’
Victor Moses also added, “After a great result on Saturday for Chelsea, now it is time to focus on #Nigeria. Can’t wait for the game against Algeria this Saturday.”
