A cleric and four other persons travelling along Ise-Ekiti in Ise/Orun Local Council of Ekiti State, were yesterday, abducted by suspected gunmen.
The pastor simply referred to as Ojo, was kidnapped alongside his driver, Jimoh and three others as they made the trip in two vehicles.
The motive for the abduction was not immediately known, even as the kidnappers were yet to make contact with their victims’ relatives. Spokesperson for the state police command, Alberto Adeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, however, said two of the abducted persons had been rescued, while operatives were on the trail of the hoodlums.

He also denied knowledge of whether a pastor was among those kidnapped.
Adeyemi urged residents to help the police by exposing strange faces and movements around them.
Meanwhile, the Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) in the state, Dr. Muslim Omoleke, who was recently kidnapped by gunmen was released on Friday. The Public Relations Officer of INEC in the state, Taiwo Gbadegesin, confirmed the development, saying Omoleke was released on Friday night.
“We are grateful to you all, including members of the press, security agencies and sympathisers for your efforts at ensuring the quick release of Dr. Muslim Omoleke.
