"Game of Thrones": Cast says Arya Stark is a serial killer not a role model

People are naming their children Arya, but a certain "Game of Thrones" actor says the character is a serial killer and not a role model.

Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos on "Game of Thrones" has described Arya Stark as a serial killer and not a role model.

He said this during a conversation with Rolling Stone for a "Fan Exploder Theory" video.

According to him, a lot of ladies consider Arya Stark a great role model. He also suggested the negative impact this could have on the world in the future.

"Let me throw something out here people. There's a lot of young ladies I speak to and I go, 'what do you think of the ladies,' they go 'oh Arya, Maisie Williams character, she's such a great role model," he says.

"And I go, okay let me stop you there. She's a serial killer. And a lot of young ladies are using her as a role model...in five, ten years time, let's not examine where that might go."

"Game of Thrones' Arya Stark is strong, smart and feisty. She is also one of the most popular baby names in England.

According to a report by BBC, more than 300 girls born in England and Wales in 2016, were named after her.

 

Arya is also a kick-ass assassin with a kill count that currently stands at 64.

She carried out the show's most expensive death yet in season five, episode 10, when she gouged out Ser Meryn Trant's eyes for killing her dance instructor, Syrio Forel in Season 1.

In season seven premiere, she slayed the Frey family who murdered her brother and mother at the Red Wedding.

The last time viewers saw Arya, she was having a heartfelt conversation with Sansa after she executed the manipulative Littlefinger. 

 

Cunningham also spoke about the possibility of his character making it out of the game alive in the upcoming season.

"As we speak, at this moment in time, the bastards at HBO have not sent me the scripts for the final season. They promised me the scripts this week, but they haven't sent them," he said.

The final season of "Game of Thrones" is expected to debut in 2019.
