Philippe Coutinho: Barcelona close to signing of Liverpool midfielder

Coutinho is a transfer target for Barcelona as they saw him as an ideal replacement for Neymar.

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is expected to make a switch from England to Spanish giants Barcelona in a deal reported to be in the range of €130m - €160m.

Coutinho was a transfer target for Barcelona in the summer as they saw him as an ideal replacement for Neymar.

According to Guillem Balague of Sky Sports , “discussions between clubs are taking place about the price right now. The figure Liverpool will start considering is 150m euros (and Barcelona will be willing to pay even more as they want this to happen).”

 

“Barcelona will go as far as it takes to bring Coutinho now, the squad are putting pressure for that to happen, it is the kind of quality the team needs to keep winning titles,” Balague further said.

Sky Sports suggest both Coutinho and Barcelona want this sorted now.

Both parties don’t consider the possibility of agreeing now for the summer, a  scenario that only benefits Liverpool.
