NPFL: Plateau United go top after rescheduled games

Here is a roundup of rescheduled matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Current Champions Plateau United are back on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after the rescheduled fixtures played on Wednesday, February 28.

Three matchday nine fixture were played, which involved all three home teams picking up maximum points, and a total of five goals scored in the three victories.

One goal wins.

Lobi Stars defeated Akwa United by a lone goal scored by Austin Ogunye  in the 33rd minute.

Chizoba Amaefule scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game in the 77th minute, as Plateau United defeated Rangers International.

 

Sunshine Stars edge MFM

Sunshine Stars of Akure defeated last season Runners-up MFM 2 - 1, Alimi Sikiru gave the hosts the lead in the 8th minute.

MFM equalised through Nojeem Akinyemi in the 52nd minute, before Omotayo Adegbogun scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the 78th minute.

The games were rescheduled due to Nigerian contingents that are participating in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

The NPFL continues with matchday 10 on Sunday, March 4.
