Usain Bolt has announced he will play for Unicef's Soccer Aid

Sprint legend Usain Bolt has agreed to play football for charity at the Soccer Aid game scheduled for Sunday, 10th June at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.

The 100m and 200m world record holder had earlier stated his intention to play professional football upon his retirement from athletics.

 

Bolt took to his official Twitter handle to confirm his participation at the Charity, as he posted, "Excited to announce that I will be playing in @socceraid for @UNICEF_uk   2018 at Old Trafford on Sunday 10th June. Make sure you're ready @robbiewilliams! ⚽️"

 

The official Twitter handle of Soccer Aid also confirmed Bolt's participation via a message which said, "@usainbolt joins Soccer Aid World XI. #SoccerAid is back and bigger and better than ever. Buy your tickets to a game like no other: http://ift.tt/2EXPVNv"

"It's my dream to make it as a professional footballer. To play against some of football's biggest legends is going to be remarkable,"

The 31-year-old who had trials with European sides Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, posted earlier that he would announce his signing to a new club.

South African football outfit Mamelodi Sundowns earlier hinted the signing of Jamaican athletics icon with pictures of the Superstar in their teams training kit

Bolt won multiple titles at the IAAF World Athletics Championship before he retired in 2017.

 

He joins several superstars from different discipline who have decided to play for charity.
