TETFUND donates N5m life line to Kano fire, flood victims
Kano Kurmi market Fire and flood victims were on Saturday presented, with N40 million worth of relief materials, and N5 million cash, as life line to alleviate their untold hardship.
The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund ((TETfund), Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and Director General One to Tell 10 Buhari Support Group made the donation during a sympathy visit to the market on behalf of the Federal Government
While commiserating, with the victims, he told them that President Muhammadu Buhari was very much disturbed; over the loss they suffered from the fire disaster and prayed Almighty Allah to wipe away their tears of sorrow.
He said:” when they heard about the fire and flood incidences, they became worried in view of the difficult situation which the people found themselves. Since then, we have been making contacts with other people on how to mobilize support and assistance, to cushion the effect.”
Dr. Abdullahi Bichi, who also is the Director General of One 2 Tell 10, a Buhari/Ganduje support group, announced a donation of N2 million on behalf of the group and another N3 million donated by friends of the President Buhari government.
He said the N3 million donated by the anonymous philanthropists is to be shared to 60 petty traders, whose capital base does not exceed N50,000, while the N2 million donated by the support group is to be shared equally, among the victims of fire and flooding in the market respectively.

Dr. Bichi also promised to mobilize further financial support and assistance to the victims, promising to reconstruct the collapsed bridge in the market.
The Director General of One 2 Tell 10 group, urged the market traders to mobilize support for more votes to President Buhari in the 2019 elections.
He said the mission of the group is to garner 19 million additional votes for President Buhari from the 19 Northern states during the 2019 elections, describing Buhari, as the best option to continue occupying the seat in view of his good track record, exemplary leadership and commitment to the course of Nigeria’s growth.
Dr. Baffa also extended to the market traders the message of President Buhari to elect only credible candidates and persons, with integrity.
Earlier, the Sarkin Kasuwar Kurmi, Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano reaffirmed their commitment and support to President Buhari in the 2019 elections, just as he was delighted with the visit and vowed to reciprocate by canvassing for more votes in the coming elections.
Alhaji Maikano, said the visit by Dr. Bichi was timely in view of the harsh economic hardship the traders were thrown into, as a result of the disasters.
He said, “This was the first time when any group or individual visited us and gave us a donation of such magnitude.”
The market traders, who thronged the venue, were full of praises and commendation to the Executive Secretary of TETfund.
Highlights on the occasion were the receipt of thousands of PDP/Kwankwasiyya members, who defected to the APC and vowed to work tirelessly for the success of Buhari in the coming elections.
