He, however, reclaimed them after beating the Mexican boxer via unanimous decision in the rematch on Saturday, December 7.

Speaking about his loss in June, the 30-year-old revealed he was having health issues before the fight.

I didn't know what was wrong with me though I'd been having health issues,” Joshua told BBC.

I couldn't understand why I felt so tired. In the dressing room in New York I was so tired I had to put my head in ice bucket.

Rumours flew around that he was sick after the loss although Joshua and his team denied it, he has finally cleared the air about it.

“I was told I must have an operation to correct the problem. After that I could train properly in camp for this fight,” he also said.

For his next fight, Joshua has been ordered to take on mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk to defend his WBO title.
