Welcome to the politics of 2020 in Edo State

In few words, I shall herein respond in measured terms to the thousands of responses and reactions to my new Year Day innocuous statement titled ‘Welcome to the Politics of 2020’. I will put this matter completely behind me hereafter and move on. A man who knows where he is going does not look back!

I am eternally grateful to the vast majority of those who understood my state of mind, the factual contents and the posers in the statement. So delightfully, they include close relatives and associates of the Governor who witnessed our deployment of sinews to crack the rock. My day was made to realize that these men of integrity at home and abroad, still had my phone number when they called to identify with the points I made and the sentiments expressed in the public statement. They showed great understanding and appreciated my display resilience and equanimity. Incidentally, I knew some of them through the Governor. I feel truly humbled! I am glad that I spoke for many, some of whom were recently and seemingly appointed belatedly. Nobody that I know or worked with us reacted negatively. That is profoundly instructive!

I am not appalled by the hornswoggling activities of the fiendish blood suckers from hell, who are seeking refuge from existential torment. I did not know there was so much terror in the snippet that could set some bile ablaze! Bu quite comforting to note that only about 3% of the total number of people that responded or reacted to the statement were reacted negatively.

A cursory look shows that they are indeed professional hackers using pseudo names to a dirty job. Where they eminent personalities guided with sound logic, they would have harangued the Governor into positive action with depths of insights and erudition of thought! But do they really wish the Governor well? Is their strategy helping the Governor to expand his support base? When did politics cease to be by engagement and persuasion? These Obaseki defenders are preoccupied with a tragic parody which refuses them the enlightenment that is possible when facts are there to be seen and truth is explained. Thank God, I don’t know them!

However, I am cognizant of the fact that sycophants and their inscrutable ways could transform a hubristic Leader into a psychopath.As we can all see, these guys are shameless agents of destruction. They are mere attack dogs and have completely lost their sense of humanity. They pander to psychopaths, anti- socials and those unburdened of conscience. Sycophants and hired pen pushers forego self respect and considers people’s feelings expendable in the blind pursuit of privileges or proximity to power! Since you know them, ignore them, discountenance their poisonous parade of untruth, no matter how well garnished!

Politics has its playground. The social media maybe one in due season. But for now, it is nearly the exclusive reserve of political toothless dinosaurs! My forte rest with the engagement of people, exciting and swaying them with the sweet pie of anecdotes. Let me now descend into the arena once again. You will find me in the political whirlwind in control of its direction! God bless you all.
