Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali wins La Liga 2 title with Huesca
Kelechi Nwakali didn't play much of a part in Huesca's title win.
Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has won the league title in his first season with Spanish side Huesca.
Huesca were confirmed La Liga 2 (Spanish second division) champions after their 1-0 win away at Sporting Dijon on Monday, July 20, 2020.
After earlier confirming promotion to La Liga, Huesca finished the La Liga 2 season on top of the table with 70 points from 42 games.
A delighted Nwakali took to his Instagram to celebrate his club’s league title.
“What a way to end the season Promotion to the Laliga: Champion: First start: What a great God you are,” the former Golden Eaglets midfielder wrote.
Nwakali didn’t play a pivotal role in Huesca’s title win as he made only one start in five games which came only on the final day of the season.
The 22-year-old joined Huesca in September 2019 on a three-year deal.
