Nigerian UFC star Kamaru Usman challenges Conor McGregor again
Usman says he is ready to face McGregor anytime.
Fresh off defending his UFC welterweight title, Nigerian-American mix martial artist Kamaru Usman has claimed that Conor McGregor is dodging a fight.
Usman and McGregor have a couple of times, challenged each other to a fight which has never happened.
Now Usman, who on Saturday, July 10, 2020, defended his UFC welterweight title with a unanimous win against Jorge Masvidal said he offered to fight McGregor but the UFC superstar dodged it.
“I've offered him a shot! I said, ‘Hey if you want it, it's yours, you got it,’ and he was silent,” Usman told TMZ Sports.
“If Conor wants to put my name in his mouth, then come get some.
“[A Conor fight is] just a lost cause because we both know Conor.
“The only time Conor gets up to the Welterweight division is if he's able to pick and choose lightweights with double-digit losses that he can pick off and not have to cut weight to get down to lightweight.
“If Conor wants a piece at welterweight, he knows who the king of the division is. I'm not going anywhere! I'm right here.”
Already the first man in UFC history to hold two belts at different weight divisions, Usman had an eye on extending his record to three divisions before he announced his retirement.
