Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho joins Cypriot club APOEL FC on a 3-year-deal
With this new club, Uzoho remains in Cyprus where he has been on loan for two seasons.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has joined Cypriot club APOEL FC on a three-year deal.
Uzoho joins APOEL FC permanently from Deportivo La Coruna after three loan stints away from the Spanish side.
The Nigeria international spent the last two seasons on loan at Cypriot clubs Anorthosis Famagusta and Omonia.
With his new permanent deal, the 21-year-old will now remain in Cyprus with APOEL who are the most successful club in Cyprus with 28 league title wins.
“Happy to start a new journey today with this great club, hope to enjoy great success along the way,” the goalkeeper wrote on Instagram
Uzoho is still recovering from a long term injury he sustained in Super Eagles’ friendly game against Brazil which ended 1-1 in October 2019.
Samson Tijani joins Bull Salzburg
In another Nigerian move, former Golden Eaglets Super Eagles captain Samson Tijani has joined Austrian champions Bull Salzburg on a five-year contract.
Tijani captained Nigeria’s U17 to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and later the FIFA U17 World Cup all in 2019.
