Lagos PDP chairmanship candidate vows to restore Amuwo-Odofin’s glory

By Evelyn Osagie

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Amuwo-Odofin in Saturday’s local government election in Lagos, Adesoye Adedayo, has vowed to restore the lost glory of the council area if given the mandate to serve the people.

Adedayo, who spoke to reporters recently about his aspiration, said his passion for the development of the area is beyond party politics.

His words: “The party aims is to restore what has been lost in Amuwo-Odofin for the past 22 years that the PDP has not won the chairmanship position. This is not a partisan affair; it is a battle of Amuwo-Odofin residents and its environs against the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).

“The PDP is here to build up the body, soul and spirit of Amuwo-Odofin. When we are talking of the body we are talking about the physical things, the soul means the people, while the spirit is what controls Amuwo-Odofin.

“Even the blind will tell you there is something wrong in Amuwo-Odofin. Therefore, the time has come for the PDP to get it fixed. So, we want all residents to come out on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 8 am to 3 pm, to cast their vote and let Festac rise again.”

Adebayo added: “I and my deputy, Prince Chijoke Fortune Ukwa are here to right the wrongs, to bring Amuwo-Odofin to where it should be in Lagos State. I want people to see Festac and say there is hope for Nigeria.”

The deputy chairmanship candidate said the security agencies have assured that the election would be hitch-free because they would be on the ground to keep the peace. He added that an emergency number would be provided for residents to report any malpractices noticed during the election.

Amuwo-Odofin PDP chairman, Jelili Alebiosu said the people are fed up with the treatment being meted out to them under the APC and are ready to vote out the ruling party.
