Tope Oshin's 'In Line' movie scoops new award 4 years post release
The feature film premiered in 2017 and is currently streaming on Netflix.
Ace film director, Tope Oshin has received a brand new award for the 2017 movie 'In Line'. The 'Here Love Lives' director recently confirmed that she scooped the Best Director award at the Hollywood Weekly Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Announcing the new award, Oshin shared a delightful post on Instagram showing off the award plaque.
"Many thanks to @hollywoodweeklyfilmfestival @hollywoodweeklymagazine for this honor and BEST DIRECTOR award in Los Angeles last weekend, for our film that keeps giving #InLineTheMovie. Women’s stories matter. Human stories matter," Oshin wrote.
"Grateful for the Producers, Writers and the entire cast and crew who lent their resources and talent to tell this story."
Written by Temitope Bolade and Diche Enunwa (story by Isaac Chris), the romantic drama centres on a convicted murderer who reunites with his wife after his release from prison. Things take an unprecedented love triangle twist when he invites his private investigator friend to monitor his wife following suspension of infidelity.
'In Line' stars Adesua Etomi, Uzor Arukwe, Chris Attoh, Shawn Faqua, Sika Osei, Tina Mba, Esosa Adah, Elsie Ajokku amongst others and was released in September 2017.
Oshin's latest win comes amid news of her forthcoming film 'Here Love Lives' receiving its first international nod. Recall that the film was recently unveiled as one of the honorees of the ReFrame Stamp, an initiative by the Sundance Institute, Women In Film, and IMDBpro that promotes projects that have demonstrated success in gender-balance.
