Akeredolu promises to review residency card policy

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has promised to review the use of residency card policy in assessing government amenities.
Akeredolu, who spoke at Oba-Ile, in Akoko North Local Council, said the card, also called Kaadi igbe Ayo, would be given freely to all residents if elected.
He pledged to continue with existing policies that were in the interest of the people, irrespective of their political differences.

He explained that he would not condemn good policies without studying their implications, adding that if the residency card was found to be useful, it would be retained.
The candidate said the people were yearning for a change, which only an APC government would facilitate.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu, has promised not to interfere in the internal affairs of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
He made the pledge at a meeting with members of the union in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Council area.
Represented by his running mate, Agboola Ajayi and the Director General of his campaign organisation, Victor Olabimtan, he said the incessant government interference in union activities was undemocratic.
He said: “A vote for me would be a vote for your freedom. I love freedom and would not do anything to infringe on the liberty of anyone. If you support me and the party wins the election, the government would not be involved in how you select your leaders
