1. Early Life

 

Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze is from Osun state in Nigeria. He was born to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, Smaranda Olarinde.

2. Education

 

Daddy Freeze attended the very prestigious International School Ibadan. He then went on to attend the University of Ibadan where he earned a bachelors degree in Sociology.

3. Career

 

Freeze has had one of the most successful careers in media. He started his radio career at a young again with a brief three-month stint with Radio Galaxia in Romania while he was on holiday. He later returned to Nigeria and he joined BCOS Ibadan where he worked for five years before moving to Cool FM in 2001.

During the course of his career, Freeze has been privileged to have one on one interviews with likes of top local and international acts including Boyz II Men, Angie Stone, Akon, Brian McKnight, Sisqo, Joe, SWV, Brick and Lace, Wyclef Jean, Caron Wheeler, Sean Paul, Kool and the Gang, 2face Idibia, D'banj, and Charlie Boy amongst others.

4. Marriage/Relationship

 

Daddy Freeze was married to Opeyemi Olarinde and the marriage was blessed with two children. However, that union crashed in an ugly manner with a lot of accusations and counter-accusations over infidelity and domestic violence.

Freeze is presently engaged to Benedicta Elechi who is the C.E.O. of Dictachi Foods Nigeria Ltd.

5. Controversies

 

Daddy Freeze is probably one of the most controversial celebrities in Nigeria. He is well known for being vocal towards social issues across the country. He frequently takes jabs at artists, dignitaries, and public personalities. Freeze has thrown a lot of shades on Clergymen especially, accusing them of using money gotten from tithes and offerings to live a life of affluence at the detriment of their congregation.
