Wicked step-mothers and evil uncles, ritualists and terrorists: evil comes in different forms on the small and big screens.

There's rarely a good movie or show without a villain to keep things going, so Pulse Movies has put together seven villainous characters that shook us with their atrocities.

1. Nkem Owoh - "Ode-Eshi"

As Akpi in "Ode-Eshi," Nkem Owoh delivered a loathsome yet mirthful character, whose greed led him to murder successful innocent youths in his village.

From his sinister moustache to the bone-chilling way he planed the demise of his nemesis, Owoh embodied that uncle you just don't want to have. 

2. Patience Oseni - "End of the Wicked"

Patience Oseni throws subtlety to the wind as a witch in the Helen Ukpabio movie, "End of the Wicked."

No on-screen or even off-screen villainous act beats a mother-in-law growing a penis with which she rapes her daughter-in-law.

3. Ron Mgbatogu - "Battleground"

 

Played impeccably by first-time actor Ron Mgbatogu, The General is one of the most entertaining yet very frightening characters on TV.

A smooth talker that exudes power, The General is a mixture of charm and cunning - just the way we love our villains.

4. Chiwetalu Agu - "Evil Cage"

 

Chiwetalu Agu is one of those actors who are paid to act pure wicked roles for our enjoyment.

The dreaded villager in "Evil Cage" was his breakout role, but even worse villainous roles awaited him.

To pay for his crimes, he was turned into a stone, but that didn’t get in the way of him playing arguably the scariest village uncle in Nollywood movies.

It's probably his way of playing with indigenous words and twisting them so that they would come out very funny to many that makes him a great villain.

5. Segun Arinze - "Silent Night"

 

Black Arror is a supreme action villain. With a menacing look and presence, Arinze is simply electric as a brutal gangster.

He went on to play several other villainous roles, but with Black Arrow, he  created a memorable character and a sobriquet for himself.

6. J. T Tom West - "State of Emergency"

With a straight-face that works for his character as Charles, the late J.T Tom West created a memorable villain in "State of Emergency."

With many memorable intimidation moves and slangs, the actor was so charming that it was almost easy to forget that Charles was a villain and not the hero. 

7. Patience Ozokwor -  "Terrible Sin"

Her treacherous antics as a mother-in-law who torments her daughter-in-law is epic. As Ola in "Terrible Sin," Ozokwor was unkind and disdainful, yet relatable.

Spewing venomous words at any given opportunity, not a lot of actress gets these relatable villainous roles as Ozokwor in Nollywood.
