However, here are five things Davido told the OAPs during his chat that you all should know about.

Davido is presently in the United States on a tour and was guest at The Breakfast Show with Charlamagne Thagod where he talked about his career, growing up and his dad.

A seemingly excited Davido spilled a lot in his chat with the OAPs and revealed a lot of things Nigerians back home weren't aware of. It got us thinking why celebrities and politicians are more comfortable with the foreign press, which is a topic for another day.

However, here are five things Davido told the OAPs during his chat that you all should know about.

1. Growing up in the United States and Nigeria

 

Davido got to talk about how he was born in Atlanta, United States and moved back home to Nigeria at a very young age. According to Davido, he gained admission into Oakwood College in Alabama which he only stayed for about a year. Being a shy child growing up, he couldn't share with his dad, his love for music. According to him, he became very close to his dad after losing his mum at a young age.

2. How he got into music

 

According to Davido, when he was still in the United States he use to pick up celebrities at the airport, arrange women for them at the strip clubs and get them cool stuff. Then he got to meet some Jamaicans who really inspired him. He went on to talk about how he sold fake jewelry back home. As a producer, he produced for other artists until he jumped on one of the songs and it became big.

3. His father initial disapproval of his music

 

We finally got to hear the part where his father initially didn't want to hear anything about his music career. According to him, father at some point sent over 50 police officers to arrest his road manager, then girlfriend just before one of his show started. After the fights, he came to a compromise with his dad to go back to school in Nigeria and his father helped set up his studio and sponsor two music videos.

4. Chioma

 

Finally, we got to hear first hand how he met Chioma. He also told the OAPs that she was in his last video (We all know that already). According to Davido, Chioma is a friend from college. He also talked about his two daughters Imade and Hailey who are both based in the United States except for Imade who shuttles between Nigeria and the States.

5. The tour

 

While chatting with DJ Envy and Charlamagnethagod, Davido revealed to the OAPs that he would be having a concert in New York and also talked about a sold out concert in Boston a couple of nights. So you all know, he is about to have a sold-out concert at the O2 Arena in London.

 

For Davido it was a tell to sell Nigeria to the world as he told the OAPs to visit during the yuletide period as he would be holding his concert in the show.
