Osimhen sees red
It’s getting difficult for Victor Osimhen at Napoli although there is nothing to be worried about right now. Two games without a goal, only one in six, Osimhen was on from the bench as Napoli took on host Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
But although he came on late in the 82nd minute, the striker saw enough time to get two yellow cards to get himself sent off.
Olayinka scores winner
Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka had a strong showing on Thursday night as he scored the winner in Slavia Praha’s home 1-0 win over Leverkusen.
Olayinka came on in the 68th minute and immediately added enthusiasm to the Praha’s attack. The striker earned a penalty for his side when he was fouled by the Leverkusen goalkeeper but stepped aside to see his teammate missed the spotkick.
Olayinka went on to get his goal in the 80th minute when he powered in a header from a corner kick.
Balogun solid
Leon Balogun is enjoying a new lease of life in Scotland where he has been solid in defence for the Premiership side. He was good again on Thursday, defending well, playing the ball from the back with the confidence of a player who is feeling well.
His performance and the ones before has impressed Rangers coach Steven Gerard who praised him for putting in consistent performances since he joined as a free agent in the summer.
