Nigerians have a host of strong words for Otamendi over his incident with Iheanacho.

Nigerians are not having it with Nicolas Otamendi after the Argentine defender had a bust-up with Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho during a friendly game on Tuesday, November 14.

Otamendi reacted angrily after he was caught by the elbow of Iheanacho while they both jumped for a ball early in the first half.

The Argentine defender stood up and angrily shoved his former Manchester City teammate before going down to receive treatment.

Iheanacho did not return his angry gesture, rather he just smiled and walked away.

Following the incident, Nigerians had angry words for Otamendi in the comment section of his Instagram posts.

Nigerian Twitter users were also not left out.

Some of the comments were extremely abusive as Nigerians showed support for their beloved football star Iheanacho.

Otamendi explained his reaction after the game admitting that it was ‘a bit over the top’.

He (Iheanacho) caught me with his elbow and I didn’t like it, maybe my reaction was a bit over the top, but we are cool. He apologised and we have both moved on,” the 29-year-old defender told Tycsports.com.

It was Iheanacho who however had the last laugh as Nigeria came back from two goals down to win the friendly game 4-2.

It was the Leicester City striker who pulled one back for the Super Eagles from a freekick late in the first half after Argentina had gone two goals up courtesy of an Ever Banega freekick and Sergio Aguero tap-in.

Iheanacho assisted Super Eagles next two goals by Alex Iwobi and Bryan Idowu.

Iwobi rounded up the win with a solo goal.
