In Enugu: SWAN lauds NFF for appointing patrons, others into committees
Okolie expressed optimism that the distinguished personalities and technocrats, would help steer the ship of the football house.
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Enugu State chapter, has lauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for appointing two of its patrons and others to its committees.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that NFF appointed Davidson Owumi and Chidi Okenwa as members of its football committee.
It also appointed the Team Manager of Rangers International FC, Amobi Ezeaku, into its Players Status Committee.
The chapter’s chairman, Mr Norbert Okolie, told NAN in Enugu on Friday that the Enugu State chapter was grateful to the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF.
Okolie expressed optimism that the distinguished personalities and technocrats, would help steer the ship of the football house.
‘‘It is a great thing to happen to our football.
‘‘Owumi is not new in the business just as Okenwa has always displayed his love for the development of the round leather game.
‘‘Ezeaku will bring his youthful passion to the development of football, which he is already doing in the Rangers International FC as well as to the football house.
‘‘We laud the NFF for these decisions and hope that their wealth of experience will come to bear as Nigeria football takes the next great leap into a higher level,’’ he said.
In a related development, SWAN also rejoiced with one of its members, Jane-fances Nweze, for her appointment into the women football development committee of the NFF.
It also congratulated all other sports writers appointed into various standing committees of NFF.
