Meg Otanwa announces new web series "Sisterly Speaking"

Meg Otanwa sets out to challenge the stereotypical gender-specific roles of the African woman with web series "Sisterly Speaking."

Award-winning actress Meg Otanwa has announced a new web series "Sisterly Speaking."

With the web series, the "Hush" and "Road to Yesterday" actress sets out to ask some serious questions as she challenges the stereotypical gender-specific roles of the African woman.

 

This will be the first major production for the actress as a producer and content creator. 

"Sisterly Speaking" is directed by the celebrated filmmaker Umar Turaki, whose works such as "Small Talk" and "Tolerance" have been celebrated and screened at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.

"Sisterly Speaking" is a comedy-drama series that follows the eventful life of Ajoke Williams, an ambitious young Nigerian businesswoman.

As she juggles business and love, she must learn to navigate the daily pressures of living in a patriarchal society that can be as ridiculous as it is vicious in its prejudice. 

The series features award-winning actors such as Meg Otanwa, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Jimmy Odukoya, Ijeoma Aniebo, Rita Edward, Brutus Nfom Richard, Uche Nwaefuna and Sandra Iroegbu.
