Chima Akas: Super Eagles defender moves to Sweden

Super Eagles team B left back Chima Akas has completed a move to Swedish side Kalmar FF

Former Super Eagles team B left back Chima Akas has completed a move to Swedish top flight outfit Kalmar FF.

Akas who was part of the home based Eagles to the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, sealed the move abroad after a successful trial with the Swedish club.

Akas completed the move after his contract expired with Nigerian Professional Football league (NPFL) side Enyimba.

In 2016 Akas captained the NPFL all star team that travelled to Spain on a tour in matches against La Liga sides Malaga and Valencia.

The Ibadan born left footer signed a three year contract which will keep him at the club till 2021

Upon his move Akas told Kalmar FF website   “That's been my goal since I came here to sign a contract with the association. Therefore, it feels good that it is finally clear,”

"I see myself as a quick left-footed player who plays at the left of the back line. I also have good qualities like ball winners and have a nice foot in fixed situations."

Akas represented Nigeria last year at the CHAN qualifiers and WAFU Cup, and has previously played for NPFL sides Shooting Stars, Sharks and Enyimba before his move abroad to Kalmar FF
